Customs Duty for Single, Extra and Double Cab Vehicles

Single Cab (Regular Cab)

Its short for Single Cabin or Single-Cab-Chassis. A regular cab has a single row of seats and a single set of doors, one on each side. In terms of duty payable in Zimbabwe, all single cabs pay duty in RTGS dollars meaning you can use bond, swipe or Ecocash.

Extra Cab

Also called a Supercab, Space Cab, Extended Cab or King Cab, this body style splits the difference between single and Dual Cab truck. The extra room behind the first row of seats can be used as either seating or storage. All extra cab vehicles pay duty in local currency.

Double cab

It is also called a Dual Cab or a Crew Cab and has four doors and at least four seats, though most have five these days. Because of the extra passenger row, the rear cargo area is shorter than other truck styles, though many can still carry a tonne in the tray. All double cabs pay duty in foreign currency.
